Got a bold idea? Take the mic.

Hot Takes Cooler Planet is an open mic night for researchers and future founders. Each speaker gets 2 minutes to pitch a startup idea, a research thesis or a spicy opinion, followed by 3 minutes of questions from the crowd. No slides, no polish needed: just one strong idea and a room of researchers, founders and investors ready to challenge, cheer and help.

One rule: every hot take needs a so-what. Tell us what everyone gets wrong, then tell us what we should do or build instead. Bold and contrarian welcome. Evidence-based and constructive required.

Afterwards, drinks and networking to find co-founders, collaborators and your next big conversation.

🎤 Want to pitch? Tell us your take when you register. We have around 10 slots and will confirm speakers 48 hours before.

👀 Just want to listen? Come along, bring your questions.

Please note that photographs and video recordings will be taken during the event for documentation, reporting, and public communication purposes; for online events, this includes recordings of the session and screenshots. If you do not wish to be included in such recordings, please let us know on site or, for online events, at the start of the session (e.g. via chat) – you are also welcome to keep your camera switched off. We will take this into consideration.
